Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV)
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Salvation is a gift from God given through faith in Jesus, not something people can earn by their own good deeds. Good works are important in the Christian life, but they are the result of salvation, not the reason we are saved.
